John Alexander was born in Beaumont, Texas, in 1945. In 1968 he received
the B.F.A. Degree from Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas, and in 1970
yhe M.F.A Degree from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. He
actually lives and works in New York city.
Alexander's works can be found in numerous public and private collections, including: the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, Beaumont, Texas; Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas, Texas; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, New York; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, Illinois; and the Museum of Fine Arts, Housto, Texas.
