Julia ©1998 Frank Auerbach One of Britain's pre-eminent post war painters and among the most internationally
collected of living artists, Frank Auerbach has spent his adult life in
London. Born in Berlin, Germany in 1931, Auerbach was sent to England
in 1939 where he studied at the Royal College of Art and has remained
ever since. His first exhibition was held at London's Beaux Arts Gallery
in 1956. Auerbach's work can be found in public collections worldwide including
the Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museum, Aberdeen City, Scotland; Art Gallery
of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia; British Museum, London, England;
Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, Ohio; Frissiras Museum of Contemporary
