The exhibition, featuring oil paintings with Güneştekin’s signature rich colors and detailed, interwoven brushstrokes, will open Tuesday November 26, 2013 and continue through January 4, 2014.
The Directors of Marlborough Gallery are pleased to announce the opening of an exhibition by the sculptor and installation artist Steven Siegel. The exhibition will open on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 and will continue through Saturday, January 4, 2014. The artist will install forty-six sections of his ongoing work Biography, 2008-2013, a monumental wall-mounted sculpture approximately eighty-one feet long. The thousands of various everyday items that comprise this work, ranging from paper and twine to electrical wires and rubber tires, are tightly packed into intricate layers, creating an integrated whole. This sprawling work is divided into smaller individual sections, which when viewed alone, constitute a complex work of art in themselves and mark a specific and significant point in the continuum. This exhibition will feature sections 95-49, as a continuation of the 2011 exhibition at Marlborough Chelsea where sections 48-1 were debuted. Together, all ninety-five sections span 156 feet.
The Directors of Marlborough Gallery are pleased to announce an exciting exhibition of new sculpture and large-scale collaged drawings by the world-renowned Spanish artist, Manolo Valdés. This highly anticipated show will open Thursday, October 17 and continue through November 23, 2013.
This will be Valdés’ first major sculpture show at Marlborough New York since 2002 and the first show of his large-scale collaged works.
In Hans Silvester’s most recent series Painted Houses: Southern Ethiopia, the photographer turns his lens on the houses of the indigenous tribes of the Bench area in Southern Ethiopia. Silvester’s photographs capture the astonishing beauty of their intricately painted homes, inviting viewers to discover new ways of seeing and appreciating this area. The interior and exterior walls of their homes are painted with schemes that range from abstract geometric patterns to depictions of flowers and animals. Fascinated by the painting practices of the Bench tribes and astounded by the beauty of their art, Silvester’s photographs reveal the diverse and extraordinary effects that they achieve through their ancient tradition.
During his lifetime (1869-1954), Henri Matisse produced over 800 prints in addition to illustrating a number of exquisitely designed livres d’artiste. In this exhibition, one of the first major surveys to take place in New York in many years, over 80 exceptional works are displayed according to technique and chronology, reflecting the concentration on printmaking at certain significant periods during his career. Many rare examples in various graphic media, such as etching, drypoint, woodcut, lithography, linocut and pochoir (stencil), will be included.
The exhibition begins September 12, 2013, at Marlborough Gallery, New York, and continues through October 12; after which it will travel to Marlborough Fine Art, London, from December 4, 2013 - January 11, 2014; and Galería Marlborough, Madrid, in February, 2014- March, 2014.

The exhibition will feature 18 indoor, stainless steel sculptures, including unique polychromed and gilded works, and will continue onto the gallery's terrace with 9 garden-scale works. From the private holdings of the George Rickey Estate, the exhibition covers the spectrum of Rickey's distinctive sculptural voice and offers further insight into his expansive creativity, as many of the pieces are on public view for the first time.
This summer the New Orleans Museum of Art will celebrate the third installment of its Great Hall exhibition series with a solo show by renowned video, performance, and collage artist Rashaad Newsome (born 1979). His first solo exhibition in Louisiana, Rashaad Newsome: King of Arms explores the artist’s interest in ornament, systems of heraldry, and Baroque grandeur.

The New York Botanical Garden and Marlborough Gallery are pleased to announce an exhibition of monumental sculpture by the renowned Spanish artist Manolo Valdes from September 22, 2012 through May 26, 2013. The exhibition, titled Manolo Valdes: Monumental Sculpture, will include seven bronze, cor-ten steel and aluminum sculptures ranging in size from well over 17 feet tall to more than 50 feet in width. The sculptures have been sited to takemaximum advantage of the Garden's dramatic views with special attention given to the visual impact of the changing seasons.
