Dale Chihuly Honored

Marlborough Gallery is pleased to announce that Dale Chihuly is a recipient of the Institute of International Education's Fritz Redlich Alumni Award. Established in 1919, the Institute of International Education encourages cultural ties through scholarly exchange—notably, through programs such as the Fulbright—and promotes academic freedom internationally. The Fritz Redlich Alumni Award is given to a Fulbright program alumnus who has advanced the cause of mutual understanding and international cooperation. In 1968, after his studies at the University of Washington, the University of Wisconsin, and Rhode Island School of Design, Chihuly was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to work at the Venini factory in Venice, Italy. A work by Chihuly will be auctioned at the Institute of International Education's international awards dinner on October 4, 2011.

Please see the Institute of International Education website for more details.
