The Cruel Stories of Paula Rego at Musée de l'Orangerie, Paris

This major exhibition at Musée de l'Orangerie explores Paula Rego’s interpretation of stories which are given fresh meaning through her paintings. Rego intertwines literary references with strong autobiographical elements to comment on social and political issues. On view are over 70 paintings and drawings which display Rego’s remarkable ability to merge reality with fiction and dreams with nightmares.
